From the new Borderlands game reveal to Naughty Dog’s upcoming space adventure Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, there were multiple exciting game reveals this year. However, today we’ll have a look at the ones that were the most unexpected for fans.

The Witcher 4

One of the biggest reveals at the Game Awards, The Witcher 4 is set to feature Ciri as the main protagonist of the story. The game is just entering production using Unreal Engine 5, so it’ll be a while before players get to play the game. Hopefully, the developers will keep the fans updated.

Elden Ring: Nightreign

Fromsoft takes on the RougeLike approach with the new entry into the Elden Ring franchise. Nightreign will pit three players into a brutal three-day survival challenge. The fights will undoubtedly be epic as the combat direct for Bloodborne and Elden Ring is taking the charge of game director this time around.

Okami Sequel

Over a decade after the original game left everyone wanting more, Okami Sequel is finally under development, and no other than by the hands of the original creator of the game, Hideki Kamiya. While not the biggest, it was among the surprising announcements that hyped up fans who were waiting for a long time.

New Virtua Fighter

Another game lost to time; the last Virtua Fighter was also released back in 2006 and is finally getting another entry. Virtua Fighter was among the best fighting games that new fans will finally be able to experience. The most recent VF Direct revealed returning characters; however, the developers did not go into many details.
