The MongolZ have now made their way into the Grand Finals of Skyesports Championship 2024 for CS2 after defeating Eternal Fire with a 2-0 scoreline. This comes as another dominating win for the team after the quarter-final match against AMKAL ESPORTS.
It was a very surprising upset for Eternal Fire, as the team qualified directly for the grand finals. Although, The MongolZ have gone toe-to-toe against some of the biggest international teams in the last few months like G2 Esports, while also making them sweat at times.
Match overview
MongolZ first defeated Eternal Fire in ancient, which is their turf. After some great opening rounds on the defence, Eternal Fire did manage to bring the score back to equal. The second half, however, saw the team struggle to keep the ball rolling.

The second game saw Eternal Fire fail some crucial duels post-plant and were punished accordingly by MongolZ. Eternal Fire only managed to secure three rounds in the first half, and it was already looking bad considering it was their map pick.
This was also the second match against both teams. Before this, the teams went against each other at the PGL CS2 Copenhagen Major Opening Stage, where Eternal Fire took down MongolZ. At the time, MongolZ also lost multiple games against other teams, so this much development in just the last few days has left fans wanting for more in the grand finals.
3DMAX facing Aurora Gaming
Two more teams, 3DMAX facing Aurora Gaming, are currently locked in an intense battle which will decide the team joining The MongolZ at the grand finals. Teams will then compete for the grand prize and the sweet trophy Skyesports showcased a few days ago for Skyesports CS2 Championship 2024.
Most of the fans are currently cheering on The MongolZ. “I hope Mongolz are winning this event. They deserved it, so much grind the past few months,” one of the fans said. However, their opponents are also here for the win.
