After initial hiccups, the ongoing Skyesports Counter-Strike (CS2) Championship 2024 has been going well for the most part. Group stages have concluded with six teams making their way into the Playoffs out of which the top teams from each group have secured semifinals.

Aurora Gaming and Eternal Fire were the dominating forces in their respective groups and were the ones qualifying directly for the semis. Winners of the quarterfinals will be moving forward to face these teams.

ENCE and MongolZ in Group A were tied up and barely survived the group stages as BLEED Esports on the way back home due to round differences. Group B saw the BetBoom Team withdraw from the tournament due to the initial issues with setup, internet and electricity. This translated into the teams having a bit of breathing room.

Indian organisations fail to qualify for Playoffs

Skyesports Championship 2024 features two Indian esports organizations, True Rippers who qualified through Indian Qualifier and Revenant Esports who were invited. Both organisations failed to secure even a single match across all the games they played, although, the games were only best of one.

Revenant Esports recently signed an international roster of CS pros. This was a huge change from the organisation’s previous all-Indian player line-up. However, they were dominated by every team across their group and failed to secure even a single game. The team went 13-0 against 3DMAX in the group stage.

On the other hand, True Rippers did give decent competition to their opponents despite ultimately facing the same fate. Although this does come as a great experience for the team that will help them to move forward in the competitive scene.
