The original Marvel's Spider-Man was a big success on both the PlayStation and PC, which spawned its sequel with equally great reception. Just over a year after release, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is set to land on PC and PlayStation Publishing has also announced the release date and the game is coming sooner than expected.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will be released alongside all the additional content released for the game on PS5. As per the official announcement, the game is set to release on January 30, 2024. While the specifications are not yet revealed, players can expect a decent implementation of FSR and DLSS, which will be very helpful for signholder-generation-generation hardware.

“We are excited to continue this collaboration and bring Marvel's Spider-Man 2 to PC with a suite of enhanced features, including enhanced ray-tracing options, to take full advantage of a variety of setups and configurations. Stay tuned for more details on features and recommended specs closer to launch!” said Julian Huijbregts, Community Manager at Nixxes.

PSN account is a must for Marvel's Spider-Man 2

The announcement adds another big release in the first quarter of 2025 alongside some other big titles including Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Assassin's Creed Shadows and more. Although, players will still require a PlayStation Network (PSN) Account, as per the official Steam page, so a lot of players may have to miss out on Spider-Man 2.

This has been a huge topic of debate for quite some time. Not every country has the ability to create a PSN account, leaving over 50 counties and a lot of players left to get the game through ‘other means’ which can cause harm in some cases. However, it seems that PlayStation is fully locked to get players to have a mandatory PSN account.
