After the recent Helldivers 2 community outcry, the game is now unavailable in countries without PlayStation Network (PSN) support. Multiple countries saw the game disappear from the Steam store without any announcement.
Players are now confused about whether the decision is from Sony or Steam itself, as there has been no official announcement from Sony regarding the matter. The game is now unavailable in over a hundred countries. Players are worried about their purchases, as they are not able to create a PSN account and hence will not be able to play the game they bought in the future.
Steam is also known to step in from time to time in these matters and is generally considered more consumer-friendly. Usually, if someone purchases a game on Steam, it is always available in their game library regardless of the publisher's decision to take it down.
A few people have reported receiving a refund for the game in restricted regions long after the refund window. Others have opted to wait for a few days before asking for a refund, in case Sony decides to remove the mandatory PSN account linking requirement.
Refunds on Steam work - here is good guy Steam accepting simple, straightforward logic.

Rating dips even lower
In the meantime, the reviews for the game have dropped even lower and is now sitting at 50% positive reviews. One thing to note is that the negative reviews are only regarding the recent change forced by Sony. CEO of Arrowhead recently said that he is in support of the community, however, Sony have the final say in the matter.
Players still love the game developed by Arrowhead, which might be the only reason they have decided to link an existing PSN account or create a new one.
The game still boasts a healthy player count as the core gameplay remains fun. Additionally, the game is set to introduce new Premium Warbond Polar Patriots for 1,000 Super Credits, which will include new armor sets, weapons, capes, and emotes.
