Gamers are now claiming that Marvel Rivals is also matching them in bot lobbies. While this usually happens with new players to give them a little experience of what’s to come, regular players are reporting that even losing 2 or 3 matches will put them in bot lobbies. This is also only specific to the quickplay game mode.

A Reddit user ‘ciaranxy’ wrote a detailed post on this topic revealing when players are put in bot lobbies and how to identify these bots. Furthermore, the user also talked a possible reason why NetEase, the developers for Marvel Rivals, might be allowing this.

While the competitive ranked side of Marvel Rivals is going as usual, Players who are there to have chill games in quickplay are being matches with bot lobbies if they lose too much. While ciaranxy noted this to be two match loss streaks, it is yet to be confirmed. Many others have also recorded clips of these bots matches.

Community divided over bots in Marvel Rivals

Once again, the discussion on these bot lobbies have players split into two groups, similar to the most recent controversy regarding bots in Fortnite OG. One who want them gone, while other who have ideas of their own and doesn’t necessarily care.

As the user explained, adding bots allow players to win games and for young players winning is fun. However, others have argued that while they are winning, going against bots takes away all the fun and a sense of victory over other people. “I know people may feel differently but playing against bots in QP just doesn’t feel good at all to me, AI should be in AI modes and that’s it,” one user said.

The other half doesn’t really care for the casual game mode, as competitive is still fully PVP. Having bots in casual games allow players to not match with try hards each match. One player even suggested that bot lobbies are great to complete achievements. “Honestly, I just use the bot lobbies to farm Hero-related achievements, since those can't be done in vs. AI matches,” another user said.
