However, some gamers are still unhappy with the decision to not bring the game on handheld devices like Mobile or Nintendo Switch.

The game director for Marvel Rivals, Thaddeus Sasser previously spoke about bringing the game to smaller screens to Pocket Tactics ahead of its release at Gamescom. Sasser revealed that at that time, there were no talks of something like a Switch port.

This response did come as a punk in the gut for gamers who want a mobile experience, as they really loved the game. However, all is not lost as Sasser told there were no plans/talks going on at the moment. With how much popular the game is, this can change in the near future.

Why is Marvel Rivals not on Mobile or Switch?

Marvel Rivals was developed using Unreal Engine 5 and while the game does look good, it also takes up a lot of power to run. Along with added feature of destructible environment, particle effects and other things can early up the power required to run the game.

The game reportedly had problems on the Xbox Series S which makes it rather clear why a seven-year-old device will not have enough juice to run the game. As for its successor, Nintendo Switch 2, fans can see the game land on the device once it launches.

For mobile devices, things are rather confusing, NetEase is known to make popular mobile titles. Mobiles nowadays are also getting much better in terms of performance. Sadly, the biggest issue here remains the battery life and controls.

As mentioned, the game is developed in Unreal Engine 5 meaning mobile gamers will need some expensive devices to run the game which not everyone can afford. Low devices mean low player count, hence the decision to not bring the game on mobile just yet.
