The publishers behind Lords of the Fallen and CI Games are seemingly aware of the ongoing DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) controversy and are planning to stay away. CI Games has been aware of the ongoing DEI situation in the industry and says they are committed to bringing games to adjacent audiences.
During a recent investor chat at Strefa Inwestorów, one of the questions asked about the studios’ current stance regarding DEI in gaming. Responding to that, global marketing director Ryan Hill said that the studio is prioritising ‘user experience’ over any social or political agendas via ‘compelling themes and characters’.
“While some video games have recently taken the opportunity to embed social or political agendas within their experiences, it is clear that many players do not appreciate this, and as a result, we have seen a number of high-profile releases underperforming commercially during the last year alone,” Ryan said.
“Our games will always be developed to maximise player enjoyment and commercial success, and as such, we will not be integrating any social or political agencies into these experiences going forward, having observed the high risk this can present,” he further added.

The next game in Lords of the Fallen franchise is in full production
Revealing the status of the upcoming game, senior VP of development, Tom O'Connor, revealed that the next entry in the Lords of the Fallen franchise is in full production. 2025 is set to host extensive playtesting for the game to eliminate any issues with the game.
The previous entry saw a mixed reaction from gamers after many complaints regarding clunky gameplay, and the overall performance left a sour taste in everyone’s mouth. Hopefully, the upcoming title will also focus on better optimisation. The better the game is optimised, the more players will be able to enjoy the game.
