If fans didn’t have faith during the Witcher 4 release, they’ll be glad to hear that almost half of the development team from Witcher 3 is working on the game. As revealed by the Joint-CEO of CD Projekt Red (CDPR), ‘Michał Nowakowski’, the next installment to the game has around 100 OG devs from 10 years ago so there’s nothing to worry about.

The Witcher 3 was released almost a decade ago and is still considered one of the best RPG games ever made. “The Witcher 3  turns 10 this May. Around 100 of its developers are working with us to this day on our new projects, including The Witcher IV. Some are actually veterans from The Witcher 2 and The Witcher 1, including my esteemed co-CEO, Adam Badowski, who has been with the series since its inception back in 2002,” Nowakowski wrote.

There have been several new additions to CDPR since Witcher 3, no doubt that the team working on the next game is much bigger. However,  having a team of people who know the game inside out can help others make a game that fans want and is faithful to the franchise. Besides, 100 developers isn’t a small number considering the game was developed by just a team of over 200 people.

CDPR aims to make Wither 4 a unique experience

Following the reveal during the game awards, Witcher 4 teams have given out a lot of information regarding their approach to the game. CDPR has a lot of ground to cover following the disastrous launch of Cyberpunk 2077. While the game is in a good state, the gamers and devs would have liked to begin there from the start.

Keeping that in mind, the developers revealed that they are taking a different approach. Laying a good foundation to start and avoid overworking the devs are some of the approaches CDPR revealed. It’s better to have everything functioning properly, even if the game takes a bit longer to release.

The Witcher 4 will also be using Unreal Engine 5 throughout the development. This covers up the visual side of the game and has veteran devs who will take care of the story and gameplay aspect.
