Riot Games has shut down its offices in Los Angeles following the wildfire crisis. The developers behind some of the most popular games like Valorant and League of Legends revealed that apart from extremely necessary operations, everything is on halt. The studio also asked the developers to ‘focus on themselves’ at the moment.
CEO of Riot Games, Dylan Jadeja, also asked the staff to do the same in his recent LinkedIn post. “What can be said now to those around Los Angeles is to please take care; please follow the guidance of the local authorities and take the appropriate precautions to be safe,” he said.
As of now, a large portion of Los Angeles is affected by the wildfires, leaving the lives of hundreds of thousands of people devastated. As the fight to contain the situation continued, Jadeja thanked everyone for their support and asked everyone to take care of each other.
“For Rioters reading this, please remember that the mission and the work will always be there. Right now, what matters most is taking care of yourselves and each other. It takes a village to do what we do, and we are all in this moment together. For those in our offices around the world who have been reaching out, your support has been incredible,” he further added.
Riot Games ready to stand up for Los Angeles
It is hard to tell when these wildfires will be contained for good. A lot of damage has already been done, with reports estimating the crisis to be one of the costliest disasters to the US. Jadeja reassures that when the time comes, Riot Games will be ready to ‘stand up for Los Angeles’.
“The heart of Riot Games has always been in Los Angeles. Los Angeles raised us, and we are proud to call this great city our home. Together, we will get through this,” he concluded. Other reports reveal studios like Naughty Dog, Santa Monica are also preparing for the worst, just in case.
