Krafton’s latest earnings report reveal plans to expand more in India

Krafton sees record sales with an increase of 59% compared to last year. Acknowledges the success of BGMI and plans to release more localized content in India.

The latest earnings report of Krafton reveal record sales reaching KRW 324.4 billion for the third quarter of 2024 showing a 59.7% increase year-on-year basis. This was mostly thanks to various iterations of PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS IP including PUBG Mobile and its counterpart BGMI available in India with plans of further expansion.

The success of BGMI was revealed to be localized content by adding support for multiple languages and hosting esports tournaments. Furthermore, the company aims to release a localized version of ‘Cookie Run’ in India in partnership with DevSisters.

A great example of other localized games by the company are Road to Valor: Empires and Bullet Echo India. Krafton also have several other games lined up for release. These include inZOI, Dark and Darker Mobile, SUBNAUTICA 2, Project ARC and Dinkum Together.

Alongside that, the company also partnered with Pocketpair to develop a mobile port for Palworld. All of these upcoming games can further help to enhance the company portfolio and will likely be available in India too.

Krafton to focus on Artificial Intelligence this year

With an aim to further enhance the gaming experience, Krafton also revealed that the company is moving towards Artificial Intelligence (AI). As per the report, the company already started their work towards AI back in 2022 and made advancement towards various aspects including natural language processing (NLP), speech recognition (STT/TTS) and more.

This year, the company plans on applying this tech into their games, with a great example being inZOI, an upcoming life sim game featuring a vast amount of customization. The game is said to be quite extensive. Krafton also aims to introduce AI chatbots and develop Co-Playable Characters which are better than regular NPCs. The main goal here is to have these characters fill the role of co-op partners.
