Xbox AI Chatbot (Image - Microsoft)
Months into the testing, Microsoft’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Powered Chatbot integration for Xbox users is now available for Xbox Insiders. The aim of this Chatbot is to help users resolve their support-related gaming issues without the need to wait for a long amount of time. Since it is currently in the trial phase, it is limited to users in the US.
Users are to try out his new feature and provide feedback for further improvement before releasing the AI Chatbot to the public. “We value the feedback from Xbox Insiders for this preview experience and any feedback received will be used to improve the Support Virtual Agent,” said Megha Dudani, senior product manager lead at Microsoft.
The users currently have two different Support Virtual Agents that one can choose on fly by clicking on the ellipsis menu icon. Although both provide similar functionality. The answers will also come with a thumbs up or thumbs down button which the users can click to share their experience, similar to ChatGPT. Since both are owned by Microsoft, it is likely using a variation.

How to use the AI Chatbot?
Using this feature is also seemingly quite easy as it shows up alongside other support features to Xbox Insiders. The AI chatbot will be available as a ‘Support Virtual Agent’ where users can ask questions via text or voice, and it will respond using information from the entire support.
Do note that the response will be limited to what’s available in support, but users can request other support options like speaking to a real person if it's during regular operation hours. In a sense, the chatbot will help people to quickly resolve console and game query by pulling information from every support page for a solution which otherwise would take a lot more time manually.
This integration comes as a part of Microsoft’s push towards AI in general. Those who want to test out the new AI chatbot can still join the insider program.
