Black Myth Wukong is currently the most anticipated game of 2024 set to release on August 20 on all platforms. After various gameplay and cinematic reveals, the popularity of the game have skyrocketed. However, Xbox fans might be in for a disappointment.

During the Summer Game Fest, there was another trailer for the game and this time, players noticed that it only contained PC and PS5. This led on to the company revealing that the game has been delayed for Xbox Series X/S for better optimizations.

“We are currently optimizing the Xbox Series X|S version to meet our quality standards, so it won't be released simultaneously with the other platforms. We apologize for the delay and aim to minimize the wait for Xbox users. We will announce the release date as soon as it meets our quality standards,” the updated FAQ for the game said.

Microsoft cannot stop taking Ls

Responding to the queries made by Windows Central, Microsoft said, “We’re excited for the launch of Black Myth Wukong on Xbox Series X|S and are working with Game Science to bring the game to our platforms. We can't comment on the deals made by our partners with other platform holders, but we remain focused on making Xbox the best platform for gamers, and great games are at the centre of that.”

Many believe that the studio behind the game might have cut a deal with Sony, while another speculation arising for the delay is the Xbox Series S which was made less powerful in order to cut cost. However, it has been suffering for that decision with multiple game delays and cut features.

This delay has now given PlayStation and PC gamers another chance to laugh at Xbox. Microsoft and Xbox studio have recently disappointed fans back-to-back and while the Xbox Showcase reveals were a silver lining, the talk comes back to their consoles which are falling behind compared to PlayStation.
