The semifinals for Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) Esports World Cup went as expected, with G2 Esports and NaVi taking down their opponents to secure a spot in the Grand Finals. While things went buttery smooth for G2, NaVi had an embarrassing moment.
Virtus.pro had a tough time facing NaVi after the first few rounds. The team secured the pistol round to gain a few round lead, however, once G2 was on full buy, it got challenging for VP. Eco, Full buys, nothing worked as the team failed to secure another round in the first half.
This continued in the second half, with VP only securing one round before G2 closed the game. The second game saw G2 with a back-to-back nine rounds before VP could move past zero on the board. The first half has made it quite clear that it wasn’t VP’s day.
Pistol round for the second half also went to G2 and while VP did put in a few rounds, it wasn’t close enough to make a comeback. Both matches saw NiKo pop-off while star player from VP were struggling to make any impact on the game.
