Dominating PS5 charts a day after announcement (Photograph: Xbox)
A day after pre-orders for Forza Horizon 5 went live on the PlayStation Store, the game has reached the top spot across multiple countries. The Xbox exclusive was previously added to the games releasing on the PS5 as part of Microsoft’s expansion beyond a single platform which seems to be going really well. Prior to this, Xbox games also saw similar success.
Originally released back in 2021, this development has surprised many as the game and has seemingly overtaken other popular upcoming releases like Elden Ring Nightreign, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and even WWE 2K25. Doom: The Dark Ages is also not far behind and is currently sitting in the top 10 among pre-orders.

Microsoft’s multi-platform push for Xbox games working well
Last year, Xbox announced that they were leaving the exclusivity of the race behind and bringing their games across multiple platforms. This decision came after the company acquired Activision Blizzard. While many thought the decision to keep Activision games across multiple platforms was due to FTC’s intervention, Microsoft decided to double down. The news came as a shock but now it’s clear that the decision was possibly for the best of the company.
