Fans get first look at Mafia: The Old Country releasing in summer 2025

The long awaited trailer for Mafia: The Old Country is now revealed, with a release window set for summer 2025. The reveal was done during the Game Awards and is set around 1900s Sicily, showcasing players a beautiful set piece and a glimpse of the story along with the central character, Enzo Favara.

A snippet of the trailer was leaked online ahead of the full release, but many believe it was done to create hype among the fans waiting for the game. The game will take the players back to the origins of Mafia, something that many have been waiting for.

“Uncover the origins of organized crime in Mafia: The Old Country, a gritty mob story set in the brutal underworld of 1900s Sicily. Fight to survive as Enzo Favara and prove your worth to the Cosa Nostra in this immersive third-person action-adventure set during a dangerous, unforgiving era,” it wrote.

The game is also describing as authentic experience that will provide an immersive experience. “Authenticity is at the heart of the Mafia franchise, and Mafia: The Old Country will have fully localized voice acting in Sicilian to match the setting and time period,” it further added.

New Mafia game will not be like others

Furthermore, reports suggest that Mafia: The Old Country will be a story driven linear game rather than the open world game players know the franchise for. At the moment, it is unclear how much linear are we talking about here, as the descriptions read players will be travelling on horseback or turn-of-the-century automobiles.

While players do have a release window for the game, it isn’t set in stone as there is no release date yet. With 2025 already being jam packed with some of the biggest releases, it is hard to tell if there will be any delay or not as most games will reportedly try to avoid GTA 6 release window.
