COD Mobile 5th anniversary overview: New map and mythic weapon

Call of Duty Mobile (CODM) has crossed over 1 billion downloads worldwide, and the announcement comes right alongside the game's 5th Anniversary, starting with Season 10. The update brings a new Battle Royale map with its own unique quest, in-game events, BR Class, and a new Mythic weapon, USS 9 SMG, which is also available as a regular weapon.

There are also some gameplay changes, including a big change to how Battle Royale respawn works across the new map. The COD Mobile 5th anniversary update will be available to everyone on November 6 at 5 PM PT. Until then, let’s check out what players can expect.

New Battle Royale Map: Krai

It’s been some time players received a new map and did not want to drag out the match for longer, the New Battle Royale Map Krai is medium-sized but features various points of interest including an abandoned park, Principia Sanatorium, an industrial village and more. The map itself is filled with various Easter Eggs for players to find.

Another interesting feature the new map brings is the double respawn. All players will have an automatic respawn, after which, the regular tag respawn will be needed. This allows players to take risks and not simply wait for the circle to get close and play it too safe.

Narrative based quest

With the addition of a new Battle Royale Map, players will also get a special mission where they will explore Krai’s Sanatorium as Urban Tracker and Kumo-chan to look for secrets. Across the mission, players will come to find various mini-games to bypass security and uncover all secrets.

The same mini-games will also be available during regular Battle Royale matches, which will reward players with unique and powerful in-match weapons or various other rewards. This is similar to Fortnite, where players can defeat a new character to get exclusive weapons for the duration of the match.

New Battle Royale class and Mythic Weapon

With a new season, there will also be a new Battle Pass and Season 10 is introducing a new Battle Royale class ‘Teleport’. This class does exactly what it says, teleports the player or the team to anywhere on the map is will likely be meta after release.

As mentioned earlier, there is a new Mythic weapon, the USS 9 SMG, which will be available inside a new lucky draw. There were rumors that players might also get the first-ever free mythic weapon, but that does not seem to be the case, as players will still need to cough up money. If they don’t like the weapon, there are also various other luck draws.

Themed in-game events

A new season brings new in-game events and since it is the anniversary, it will be the featured theme. Players can get weapon XP, credits, new Operator Skins, and epic Weapon Blueprints. The complete event-related challenge will also new calling cards. These are Attacker, Camper, Sniper, Rusher, and Objective Player based on each player’s gameplay style.
