Call of Duty Players are now reporting that Activision is handing out a free battle pass for Season 6. An email with a redemption code has landed in the inbox of multiple players, however, there is a catch to it. The free battle pass is only given out to players who haven’t logged inside the game for a long time.

The person who shared the news revealed that they did not play the entire season five and found this inside the inbox. With Black Ops 6 just around the horizon, Activision may be looking to bring back the audience with a free battle pass, however, not everyone is so lucky.

Several others reported that they have not received any email despite not playing the game for the last few seasons, so it seems that the Activision light is shining randomly on players. Few players have now complained that those who have been loyal to the game are getting nothing, while so random who haven’t played in ages are getting free rewards.

The free battle pass trick isn’t something new, however, video games will often give out premium currency or free rewards in order to get players to log back in. Fortnite is another game where players have reported getting free V-Buck after they logged in following a long break. Gacha games also have a similar system, although they do a comparatively worse job.

Activision going full throttle with Black Ops 6

Season 6 for Modern Warfare will also be the final season with Activision going full force on Black Ops 6 release in October. A lot is focused on the campaign this time, which has been one of the most complained parts of Call of Duty games in the last few years.

With the added gimmick of Omnimovement and other features did manage to make the game feel a bit different and the beta was quite successful. The classic Zombies mode is also a big selling point, but it remains to be seen how well it’ll be received by the community.
