India captain Rohit Sharma was seen as emotional and relieved after his side stormed into the finals of the T20 World Cup 2024. The Men in Blue emphatically defeated reigning champions England at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Thursday. Rohit and Co. are just one win away from clinching their second title in the shorter format of the game.
A crucial partnership between Rohit and Suryakumar Yadav laid the foundation for a challenging score of 171-7 on a tricky surface in a rain-curtailed encounter. Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel also made crucial contributions. However, Axar and Bumrah came up with a big twist inside the powerplay and India capitalized from there.
England were eventually bowled out for 103 in 16.4 overs and India booked their berth in the final with a comprehensive 68-run win. Rohit was cheerful on the field but was a bit emotional as he sat outside the dressing room after the post-match ceremony.
On his way back to the dressing room, Virat Kohli noticed an emotional Rohit and gave him a friendly pat on the shoulder to comfort him. Suryakumar was also seen giving a consolation gesture to Rohit, who is on the verge of scripting history. It was a pure ‘Ro-Ko’ moment and it didn't take long for the video to go viral on social media.

He lost Kohli and Pant soon but he didn't lose the temperament.
He played with 3 spinners and proved himself as a captain too.

We worked really hard as a unit: Rohit Sharma after India's win over England
Axar Patel was adjudged Player of the Match for his brilliant three-wicket haul by conceding just 23 runs in four overs. He grabbed crucial wickets of Jos Buttler, Moeen Ali and Jonny Bairstow. Speaking after the match, skipper Rohit said:
“Very satisfying to win this game. We worked really hard as a unit. To win this game like that was a great effort from everybody. We adapted to the conditions really well. The conditions were a little challenging, we had to adapt and that's been the success story for us so far till this game. We have adapted to the conditions really well, and played the conditions really well. The bowlers and the batters, if they play according to the conditions, things fall in place and that's exactly what happened for us today.”
