India are in the finals of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 after 10 years. The Men in Blue storms into the final showdown after beating the mighty England team in the semifinals by 68 runs. The dramatic interference of the rain from the beginning of the game had the cricketing enthusiast waiting for a long time. However, the sky got clearer after the first innings, and the Indian bowlers were able to dismantle the English batting attack.

As the toss happened after a lot of delay, England won the toss and chose to field first. While this decision backfired, the Indian batting attack proved why they are the best batting side in the world. With skipper Rohit Sharma's half-century and Suryakumar Yadav's 47 runs off 37 balls, India scored 171 runs. Chris Jordan was the standout bowler for England as he took three wickets but conceded 37 runs in three overs.

When England came into bat, the weather was absolutely clear. However, the English batters lost wickets at regular intervals, which was the main reason for their loss. They failed to maintain the necessary partnerships throughout the match. Moreover, none of the batters crossed the 30-run mark, while Harry Brook (25) scored the highest runs. India's spinners turned the game with their terrific bowling as Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav took three wickets each. With this, India stormed into the finals with an astounding victory.

Will celebrate this Player of the Match award first: Axar Patel

India beat the English team to march into the finals of the T20 World Cup 2024. Spinners did their magic which helped the Men in Blue reach the finals after 10 years. For a brilliant performance, Axar Patel was given the Player of the Match award. He was brilliant throughout the start of his spell and continued with the momentum which was the biggest takeaway from the match.

"The wicket was slow, so I tried to bowl slower in this match, it worked for me. Wouldn't have worked had I bowled quicker, would have been easier for their batters. Not thinking about Barbados at the moment, will celebrate this player of the match award first," said Axar Patel at the post-match presentation.
