WATCH: Akash Singh mimics Digvesh Rathi's notebook celebration after getting Jos Buttler's wicket

In yesterday's match between Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants, Digvesh Rathi did not feature in the game after getting suspension for doing the most controversial notebook celebration. His celebration has been a talking point of IPL 2025. Even though he missed the match, his celebration did not. Akash Singh, a left-arm fast bowler, mimicked his notebook celebration, after getting the wicket of Jos Buttler. 

The wicket came in the 10^th over of the game, when  Aakash surprised Jos Buttler with a slower ball from around the wicket. The Englishman was knocked out for 33 from 18 balls as he was preparing for a huge score. After picking his wicket,  Akash made a pointed gesture to the audience before performing notebook celebration. Digvesh Rathi was on the bench and was happy after seeing his celebration getting viral.

Earlier in the game, Lucknow Super Giants scored 235 runs target for Gujarat Titans to chase. Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram gave the team a good start, which was later followed by Nicholas Pooran. LSG had 91-run partnership for the first wicket, as Marsh was charging the bowlers. Markram got out on 36 runs, but Mitchell Marsh kept on going. Later, Mitchell Marsh went on to score a century and became the first overseas player to score a hundred in IPL 2025.

Digvesh Rathi received one match ban after SRH game

Due to Digvesh Rathi's violation of the IPL 2025 Code of Conduct, he was suspended for one match. The suspension came after a furious altercation broke out between him and Sunrisers Hyderabad batter Abhishek Sharma during Monday's game. After getting the wicket of Abhishek Sharma, who scored 59 runs off 20 balls, Rathi pulled out the celebration. However, unhappy Sharma got involved in a verbal fight with him, and later the on-field umpires had to separate them both.
