Australian cricketer Mitchell Marsh scored his first ever century in the IPL. The 33-year-old got to his century in the fifth ball of the 17th over with a single off Arshad Khan. Mitchell Marsh who has been in great form with the bat this season for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) got to his century in the game against Gujarat Titans (GT). Β
Shubman Gill had won the toss and chose to bowl first at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad. LSG batters ruled the roost as the batters dominated the bowlers right from the start. Marsh, who had scored fifty in the last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad went after the bowlers right from the start.Β
In the 12th over that was bowled by Rashid Khan, the 33-year-old Aussie batter scored 25 runs. Marsh hit the Afghanistan spinner for two sixes and three fours and ended the over with a single. None of the GT bowlers were able to stop the duo as runs came at quick pace. Markram was out after scoring 35 runs when Sai Kishore had the South African batter caught by Shahrukh Khan in the fifth ball of the 10th over. Nicholas Pooran came out to bat and began his innings with a huge six.Β
The pair of Pooran and Marsh then took LSG past the 200 mark as the GT batters stared at a huge total to chase. Pooran reached his fifth fifty of the season to signal his return to form with the bat much to the delight of the LSG fans. Β
