After the end of Day 3 of the Guwahati Test 2025, Michael Vaughan took a dig at Wasim Jaffer. Given India's performance against South Africa, Vaughan asked Jaffer if he was alright after Marco Jansen's 6/48. Jaffer had earlier jokingly asked Vaughan about his well-being after England lost the Perth Test against Australia in the Ashes 2025/26.

England's batting order did not put up enough fight in both first and second innings of the Perth Test. The English bowing lineup failed to defend 205, which led to their defeat despite the absence of Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins in the Australian XI. "Hope you’re okay @MichaelVaughan #Ashes2025," Jaffer wrote on X after England's loss.

Vaughan waited for two more days before replying to the tweet. He then tagged Jaffer in a tweet after India was dismissed for 201 in the first innings of Guwahati Test. "Hi @WasimJaffer14.. Hows today going .. ? Left arm seamers are not easy to face .. 😜," Vaughan wrote, as Jansen claimed 6/48.

"This England management do it their own way," - Michael Vaughan on England's preparation

The former English skipper has shifted his focus towards the comeback of the visiting side in the Ashes 2025/26. As Josh Tongue and Jacob Bethell were called for England Lions' match before the Brisbane Test, Vaughan noted how the English national side prepares for its series.

While he personally felt the need for all players to be a part of the 2-day Pink-ball match, Vaughan backed the English management to prepare their way. "This England management do it their own way .. that’s fine .. I would personally have loved to see them all playing a pink ball 2 day game to prepare for a pink ball test," Vaughan wrote on X.
