The latter has been brilliant as an All-rounder and is a contender to win the Player of the Series Award.

At the end of the first day, South Africa was reduced for 246/6. Till then, the match seemed to be in balance, as both sides were still in the game. What followed was precisely what the visitors loved. Muthuswamy, Kyle Verreyne, and Jansen dominated with bat.

As a result, South Africa's innings came to an end with a total of 489 runs. They played 151.1 overs and tired the Indian bowlers out. In reply to it, India was going good with a score of 95/1 at one stage in their first innings.

What followed was a nightmarish collapse, which not many expected. Yashasvi Jaiswal threw away his wicket after scoring 58(97), which was the start of a bad phase for the Indian batters. From 95/1, India was reduced to 122/7 in no time.

India lost 6 wickets for 26 runs just before and after the tea session of the third day. Despite Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav's fightback, India only managed to score 201. Jansen claimed 6/48, while the visitors finished with a score of 26/0 by the end of Day 3. In total, SA won 8 of the 9 sessions, which sums up the story of the match.
