Anshul Kamboj got a call-up to be in the Indian squad as a cover to Arshdeep Singh, who suffered a cut on his bowling arm while fielding in the practice session. Kamboj had performed well in the second match of the Unofficial Series against India A last month. However, his best came against Kerala in a Ranji Trophy 2024 match, where he scripted history.

In the first innings of the Group C match at Rohtak from November 13 to 16, 2024, the right-arm pacer bowled a long spell of 30.1 overs, conceded just 49 runs at an economy rate of 1.62, including 9 maidens, and took all 10 wickets to dismiss Kerala for 291.

While the trio scored a half-century each, the Haryana bowler dismissed all of them and followed it up by dismissing Jalaj Saxena and Salman Nizar to reduce Kerala to 158/5. However, the visiting side recovered well from the situation, thanks to a 74-run stand for the 6th wicket between Mohammad Azharuddeen and Shoun Roger.
