India claim 2 wickets against New Zealand

India is grouped alongside the teams like Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka women. In the first match of the tournament, India is up against New Zealand. It turned out to be a poor start for the Indian team with the ball and on the field. The fielders looked rusty in the middle.

The Kiwi openers were off to a good start. While the bowlers bowled decently enough, the fielders did not help them enough. A couple of catches were dropped and an easy boundary was given. The throws were not up to the mark and it seemed like the Kiwis were up for a good start.

While India came close to getting wickets in the powerplay overs and could not, they got a chance in the middle overs. Asha Sobhana was the star of the show who claimed back-to-back wickets to ensure India was back in the game. The game has opened widely since then.
