The two-match test series against Bangladesh ended in India’s favor. Even after rain playing spoilsport for two days, India won the second Test match and whitewashed Bangladesg by 2-0. India came to Kanpur to play the second test match after winning in Chennai and taking the lead by 1-0. However, Bangladesh failed to win another test match and was not able to break India's home record. 

In the first innings, Rohit Sharma and his team changed their tactics and bowled Bangladesh out for 233. Then, with Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Shubman Gill, who were batting quickly and Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul producing scorching fifties, India attacked the bowling and scored 285/9d in 34.4 overs.  During the first part in India Rohit Sharma was batting on 31 runs a low delivery from Mehidy Hasan Miraz gave Bangladesh wicket of India captain as first blood was down for India team. India leading the WTC points table

India's point percentage shot up to an amazing 74.24 after the seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh, who lost and fell to seventh place with 34.38 percent, behind only South Africa and New Zealand, who were placed fifth and sixth at the time. With eight wins in twelve games, Australia is in second place with a point percentage of 62.50. England is in fourth place with a point percentage of 42.19, while Sri Lanka is in third place with a point percentage of 55.56. As they proceed with their WTC campaign, India will next take on New Zealand in a home series. As they get ready to host South Africa, Bangladesh will have an opportunity to regroup.
