Virat Kohli gained a big spike in the ODI batting ratings and climbed to the second spot in the rankings. As of December 10, 2025, Rohit Sharma has ratings of 781 points, while Virat has a ratings of 773 points. The 38 and 37-year-old veterans are ranked first and second in ODIs, respectively, after the ODI series against South Africa.
Virat had a brilliant outing in the ODI series against South Africa, where he scored 301 runs in 3 innings and won the Player of the Series Award. In the series, he smashed back-to-back tons and followed it up with a fifty-plus score. On the other hand, Rohit registered two fifty-plus scores in the series.

Sharma had a good series in the tour of Australia, which helped him win the Player of the Series award. In the process, he also achieved the feat of climbing to the top spot in the ICC ODI batting rankings for the first time in his career.
