Virat Kohli scored 102(93) in the second ODI of the series against South Africa in Raipur, which India lost by 4 wickets. Ruturaj Gaikwad smashed his maiden ODI ton, as he scored 105(83) and helped India to post 358/5 on the board. India returned well in Vishakhapatnam, won the series, and Virat won the Player of the Series Award for his exceptional batting.

Batting first in the second ODI, India posted 358 on the board, a target which was achieved only once previously. KL Rahul helped India's cause with his 66*(43). However, their efforts weren't enough under dew, as the bowlers could not defend the total.

As South Africa levelled the series 1-1, the action moved to Vishakhapatnam for what was the decider of the series. The Indian bowlers got to bowl first for the first time in the series and made the most of it. In 47.5 overs, the hosts dismissed the visitors for 270.

Virat Kohli wins the Player of the Series Award

Chasing the total, India started slowly, as Yashasvi Jaiswal found it hard to get going. At one stage, he was 19(38) but went on to score his first ODI ton. Rohit Sharma at the other end scored 75(73) before getting dismissed. It was Virat who shined yet again with his 65*(45) to end the series on a high.

India won by 9 wickets with 10.1 overs to spare and clinched the series 2-1. In 3 matches in the series, the veteran scored a whopping 302 runs, at an insane average of 151.00 and a great strike rate of 117.05, including two hundreds and a fifty, which helped him win the POTS Award.
