After being humiliated at home by Punjab Kings on Wednesday, April 30, the five-time champions Chennai Super Kings became the first team to go out of the playoff spot. Even though they put up a better batting performance that evening, CSK was once again reminded that they can't compete with elite teams like PBKS, regardless of how good they are. As PBKS chased down the target in 19.4 overs, CSK fell by four wickets despite scoring 190 courtesy of a special from Sam Curran.
After the win against CSK, Arshdeep Singh, a pacer for PBKS, took to Snapchat and put the caption "Kya hai pookie” by showing Priyansh Arya. Earlier, he also mentions, “Bhai terko Pookie bol rahi hai ladkiya.” To which he questioned back at him, “Pookie kya hota hai?” After listening to this, Arya replied to him by saying, “Genz word hai.” After having some talks with him, he asks Arya and fans what the meaning of the word pookie is, to which he shows comments of fans describing the word pookie. The video soon went viral on social media.

Speaking about the game, the deciding blow came from Yuzvendra Chahal's hat-trick in a four-wicket 19th over, but Punjab Kings' batsmen Shreyas Iyer and Prabhsimran Singh both scored half-centuries. CSK failed to bat through their whole allotted 20 overs, falling from 182 for 5 to 190 all out. CSK are mathematically out of contention after playing catch-up cricket for most of the season, unable to reach the 14 points that qualify them for the playoffs.
Nightmare for Chennai Super Kings
The team is the first to suffer five home losses in a season in IPL history. They only won once at the historic Chepauk, against the Mumbai Indians, in their season opener back in March. Given that MS Dhoni's team never truly competed, particularly when they were defending 190 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, and even the outfield circumstances, which included low dew, gave them little excuse, there would be a lot of questions aimed at CSK and their team management.
