Lord's Test: India reduce England to 98/4 in Session 1 of Day 4 (X)
Overview
- India reduced England to 98/4 in 25 overs by the end of the first session of Day 4 of the Lord's Test
- Mohammed Siraj was the pick of the bowlers, who dismissed Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope
- While Nitish Kumar Reddy got rid of Zak Crawley, Akash Deep overcame Harry Brook
India had England at 98/4 after 25 overs after the first session of Day 4 of the Lord's Test, thanks to brilliant bowling from their pacers. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, and Nitish Kumar Reddy collectively bowled well and ensured four key English batters were sent back to the dugout.
Indian players were on fire and at the English batters in the period, following what happened in the last over of Day 3. It meant that the Indian pacers were riled up against the home side. Very early in the day, Siraj operated with the new ball and got rid of Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope in no time.

The right-arm pacer went around the wicket, dropped short, and forced Duckett to play a pull shot. However, the Southpaw hit it straight to the mid on region, where Bumrah made no mistakes, as India got their first wicket. Siraj was at the batters with full intensity and troubled them throughout the spell early in the morning.

Going over the wicket against Pope, Siraj's nipbacker induced an LBW call, which wasn't given by the umpire. However, the right DRS call meant the decision was overturned, which meant India and Siraj got the second wicket. Nitish Kumar Reddy was called for his first spell of the day, and the All-rounder wasted no time in getting rid of Zak Crawley.
Yashasvi Jaiswal made no mistake in the gully region, as India got their third wicket. Harry Brook hit Deep for a couple of boundaries and a six, and seemed to go aggressive. Deep got the wicketkeeper up as Brook went for a lofted sweep, resulting in the middle pole getting uprooted.
