Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians will play each other in the 16th game of the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025). The game will be played at the BRSABV Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Friday, April 4. It will be crucial for both teams to move up in the tournament’s points table.
The last time both the teams faced off each other was the 67th game of the Indian Premier League 2024 last year. It was a high-scoring affair in which LSG completely dominated MI at their home ground, Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
With that said, here we’ll look at the batting heroics of star LSG batter Nicholas Pooran and how he destroyed the MI bowling attack to help post a 200+ total in the first innings of the game.

The hosts’ skipper, Hardik Pandya, won the toss and asked LSG to bat first; the visitors posted a total of 214 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. After skipper KL Rahul’s half-century (55 runs off 41 balls, with three fours and three sixes), it was the star middle-order batter Nicholas Pooran who came up with a blistering approach to punish the MI bowlers.
Nicholas Pooran smashed a swashbuckling knock of 75 runs off just 29 balls, with five fours and eight sixes helping his side go past 200+ total in the first innings. While chasing the target, MI were restricted to the score of 196 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the entire 20 overs and lost the game by a margin of 18 runs.
Pooran happened to be a big difference between MI and win in this game. The Caribbean Southpaw also won the Player of the Match award for his outstanding and match-winning knock for LSG.
Now in the upcoming game against MI in IPL 2025, the 29-year-old will be eyeing repeating his batting heroics that he displayed against the same opponents in the 67th game of the tournament’s last edition.
