The seventh game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) saw hosts Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) score 71 runs for the loss of two wickets from the first seven overs. Travis Head was given a huge lease of life on the first ball of the sixth over by Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) player Nicholas Pooran.
Ravi Bishnoi lured Head into playing a big shot and the batter fell for the trap. Head couldn’t time the ball well as Pooran made his way underneath the ball. Much to the shock of everyone, the catch was dropped as a huge chance went down. The cameras soon panned to Sanjiv Goenka, the owner of LSG, who was seen sitting with a blank look.
The Australian batter responded with a six off Bishnoi on the third ball of the over. On the fifth ball of the over, Bishnoi dropped an easy return catch to give Head his second chance of the over. LSG players and skipper Rishabh Pant could only look on in disbelief as two changes went down in the space of five balls.

Rishabh Pant won the toss and chose to bowl first against a red-hot SRH side. Shardul Thakur came good with the ball, as he got two wickets in successive balls for his side. The 33-year-old first dismissed Abhishek Sharma for six runs when the batter mistimed a pull shot to offer Pooran an easy chance at deep square leg.
Ishan Kishan was then out for a golden duck as Thakur’s delivery got a thin edge and was snapped by Pant. The 26-year-old, who had scored a century in the last game, could only put his head down in disappointment as he walked back to the hut. Thakur had given LSG a great start with the ball in the last game against the Delhi Capitals as well.
Sunrisers Hyderabad batters continued to show the same aggression with the bat that they have been known for despite losing two wickets. Travis Head and Nitish Kumar Reddy played delightful shots to keep the scoreboard ticking. Shardul was the only successful bowler for his side while Avesh Khan , Digvesh Rathi, and Ravi Bishnoi were yet to take a wicket.
