Who should Hardik Pandya pick to replace Rohit Sharma for MI vs KKR IPL 2025 clash?

Former MI skipper and batting stalwart Rohit Sharma has been struggling with a poor run of form with the bat in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025). He has scored only 8 runs in 2 innings with a dismal batting average of 4.00. He fell prey to star GT pacer Mohammed Siraj in the last while playing for MI.

That said, cricket fans and experts also speculate that MI management and Hardik Pandya should rest Rohit Sharma for a few matches and replace him with a better option to open the innings.

So, here we’ll look at the like-to-like replacement for Rohit Sharma, which Hardik Pandya should introduce in the upcoming game against the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders.

Will Jacks could be a perfect replacement for Rohit Sharma

Star England batter, or can say, the batting all-rounder, Will Jacks, could be a perfect fit to replace former skipper Rohit Sharma in the upcoming clash against KKR. He made his IPL debut last year in 2024 for RCB and displayed some brilliant knocks in the eight games he played. Later, he was roped in by the Mumbai Indians for the amount of INR 5.25 crores in the IPL 2025 mega-auction.

However, he was benched by skipper Pandya and MI management in the last game against the Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It was the same venue where Jacks smashed a 41-ball century for RCB against GT.

Jacks could provide the required stability to MI as he can bat up in the order, especially when it’s about opening the innings as a replacement for Rohit Sharma. The 26-year-old scored 236 runs in eight games for RCB last year in IPL 2024, with an average of 32.85, hitting a century and a half-century; he also registered an amazing batting strike rate of 175.57.

So, it would be a perfect choice for MI skipper Hardik Pandya and the team management to pick Will Jacks in the playing XI and replace Rohit Sharma for the game against KKR.
