Floodlight issues in Lahore cause injury to Rachin Ravindra

On Saturday, the first match of the Tri-Series between Pakistan and New Zealand saw Rachin Ravindra get injured. The incident happened after the Kiwi tried to stop a ball but poor visibility issues meant that he was hit on the face. Ravindra was seen leaving the field with blood on his face as the fans were concerned for his well-being.

New Zealand cricket put out a statement that read, “Rachin Ravindra sustained a laceration to the forehead after being struck by the ball in yesterday's ODI tri-series win over Pakistan in Lahore." The young Kiwi star is set to undergo observations and is not likely to play the game on Monday versus South Africa.

The release from New Zealand Cricket also read, “Ravindra passed the initial head injury assessment and the laceration, which required stitches, was addressed and treated at the ground. He is otherwise well and will continue to be monitored under HIA (Head Injury Assessment) protocols. He is unlikely to feature in tomorrow's match against South Africa."
