In what seems to be a much-awaited announcement, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed India’s squad for the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe next month. Notably, the men in blue will play the five T20Is in the five-match series against the hosts. Star opener Shubman Gill will be leading the side in this T20I series.

Besides that, a few IPL stars have also got their maiden T20I call-up for the national squad of Team India. All eyes will be on these uncapped stars and how they will show up with their performances in their debut T20I series.

Abhishek Sharma

The young Punjab batter Abhishek Sharma was in action for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League 2024. He was in stunning form with the bat for SRH throughout the entire tournament, scoring 484 runs in 16 matches with an average of 32.27 and a sensational strike rate of 204.22, hitting 3 half-centuries.

He was one of the vital cogs in the wheel for SRH in their journey through to the finals, where they unfortunately lost to the eventual Champions KKR.

Dhruv Jurel

The Rajasthan Royals batter Dhruv Jurel had already made his Test debut for India in the five-match home Test series against England, where he played a crucial role in India’s Test series win. Besides that, he also scored 2 half-centuries in the Indian Premier League, scoring 195 runs with an average of 24.38 and a strike rate of 138.30.

Jurel will also be one of the debutants for India in the upcoming five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe, starting next month in July.

Nitish Reddy

Nitish Reddy was also one of the star performers for SRH in the Indian Premier League 2024. He scored 303 runs in 13 matches with an average of 33.67 and a strike rate of 142.92, hitting 2 half-centuries. While Indian Premier League 2024 was in action, Nitish Reddy also became the most expensive player in the Andhra Premier League auction.

He will also be a player to watch out for among all the debutants in the five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe.

Riyan Parag

The star Rajasthan Royals batter has been in the headlines for the last couple of months owing to his brilliant consistency with the bat. He has been one of the top performers with the bat across all the white-ball domestic tournaments in the Indian cricket circuit.

He also amazed everyone with his sensational outings in the Indian Premier League 2024; he scored 573 runs in 15 matches, with an amazing average of 52.09 and a strike rate of 149.22, hitting 4 half-centuries.

Tushar Deshpande

The CSK pacer Tushar Deshpande has been one of the consistent performers with the ball in the last two editions of the Indian Premier League, including the 2023 and 2024 editions. He scalped 17 wickets in the 13 matches in the IP 2024, continuing his amazing form from IPL 2023, in which he scalped 21 wickets in 16 matches

Deshpande will be there in the Indian pace attack to open the bowling for India in the five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe.
