India's squad for upcoming Zimbabwe tour announced; Matches to start on July 6
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released the squad for this series, as the matches will start right after the ongoing T20 World Cup.
The Indian Cricket team will head to Zimbabwe to play a 5-match T20I series starting from July 6. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released the squad for this series. The Board has selected a 15-member squad to play the series in the foreign land right after the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 ends. While the big names like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah have been rested, Shubman Gill is to play the role of a captain and lead the young side.
This time, a young and inexperienced Indian team will visit Zimbabwe to play the series. Nitish Reddy, Abhishek Sharma, Tushar Deshpande, and Riyan Parag have got their maiden call-up by the selectors after their brilliant performance in the IPL 2024. The matches will be interesting to watch, considering the confidence these young players will be carrying with them.
While this isn't the first time Shubman Gill will be the captain, having players like Ruturaj Gaikwad and Sanju Samson by his side will boost his confidence immensely. He'll be looking forward to playing some great knocks since he didn't get a chance to play in the ongoing T20 World Cup.
