India Women's U19 team under the captaincy of Niki Prasad scripted history by defending their title in the Women’s U19 T20 World Cup. The girls in blue defeated South Africa Women’s U19 by a massive 9-wicket margin in the final of the just concluded Women’s U19 T20 World Cup 2025. It also happened to be the second consecutive title win for the India Women’s U19 team after they won the inaugural title in 2023 under the captaincy of Shafali Varma.

Many young Indian stars impressed everyone with their stellar performances throughout the entire second edition played in Malaysia. It included performances with the bat and the ball that helped India clinch the title.

With that said, here we’ll look at the 5 Indian U-19 T20 World Cup champions who may debut for the senior women’s team of India very soon. The list includes both the batters and the bowlers. They are expected to be the future stars in Indian Women’s Cricket after their heroics for the India Women U19 team.

Gongadi Trisha

Star opener Gongadi Trisha enjoyed a sensational run of form with the bat throughout the entire tournament. She smashed 309 runs in seven innings, with an unbelievable batting average of 77.25, hitting a century. Trisha also had three unbeaten appearances to her credit in the tournament’s second edition.

The 19-year-old ended up as the leading run-scorer in the tournament, alongside being the leading run-scorer for India in this edition. She also won the ‘Player of the Tournament’ award for her batting heroics in the Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup 2025.

The left-hand batter Sanika Chalke was one of the most consistent performers with the bat for India in the recently concluded Women’s U-19 World Cup 2025. She appeared to bat in six innings of the seven games she played. 

Chalke scored 95 runs in six innings in these six batting appearances, including an unbelievable number of five unbeaten appearances and registering an average of 95.00. She is also expected to leave a big impact if she gets a chance to showcase her skills at the senior level.

G Kamalini

The 16-year-old teenager G Kamalini attracted the eyeballs of Indian cricket fans and followers after getting an amazing bid in the Women’s Premier League 2025 (WPL 2025) auction. She also lived up to the expectations when the India Women U-19 side needed her the most in the prestigious women’s cricket biennial.

Kamalini scored 143 runs in seven innings, including three unbeaten appearances and registering a brilliant batting average of 35.75. She also scored two half-centuries with the bat. The teen Southpaw ended up as the second-leading run-scorer for India in the tournament.

Vaishnavi Sharma

The Gwalior-born leg-spin sensation Vaishnavi Sharma amazed everyone with her bowling heroics in the Women’s U-19 World Cup 2025. She left everyone awestruck with her outstanding performances throughout the tournament’s second edition.

Vaishnavi scalped 17 wickets in six innings, with an amazing economy rate of 3.36, including a five-wicket haul and two maiden overs. It also included her best bowling figures of ‘5 wickets at just 5 runs in a match.’ The 19-year-old left-arm orthodox spinner could add immense value if she makes it to the senior India Women’s team.

Aayushi Shukla

Another slow left-arm orthodox bowler who left an impressive mark with the ball for India, alongside Vaishnavi Sharma is Aayushi Shukla. The 17-year-old ended up as one of the most economical bowlers in the entire edition of the Women’s U-19 World Cup 2025. Besides that, she was a vital cog in the wheel for India Women U-19 to defend their title. 

Shukla scalped 14 wickets in seven innings, with an outstanding economy rate of 3.01, including a four-wicket haul [4 wickets at just 8 runs in a match]. She also bowled 4 maiden overs, the most by any bowler among all participating teams in the World Cup. Shukla can also make her international debut for India Women’s senior team very soon.
