The Indian women's U-19 team dominated in the T20 World Cup 2025 finals against South Africa. India retained their title by winning the game by nine wickets. It was South Africa's decision to bat first, but it didn't go in their favour. India's bowling performance was just astounding throughout the innings. Thanks to Gongadi Trisha's three wickets with the ball and 44 runs off 33 balls with the bat, India won the game quite comfortably.

South Africa lost some early wickets, making it difficult for the middle-order batters to gain momentum. Mieke van Voorst's 23 runs off 18 balls was the highest run for the Proteas. Parunika Sisodia, Aayushi Shukla, and Vaishnavi Sharma were terrific with the ball, taking two wickets each. South Africa could only score 83 runs in the first innings, giving India an easy target for the game.

Next, the Indian batters wreaked havoc and won the game in just 11.2 overs. For an all-round performance, G Trisha was given the Player of the Match award. She also won the Player of the Tournament award for her outstanding performance throughout the tournament.

I've dreamt of this moment: Sanika Chalke

India's U-19 team's No. 3 batter, Sanika Chalke, played a wonderful knock in the finals to defeat the Proteas and bring back the trophy home. After G Kamalini got dismissed in the fifth over, Chalke played beautifully, scoring 26 runs off 22 balls, giving support to Trisha, who was well set.

"I've dreamt of this moment for the past two years, and I can't believe I hit the winning runs—it's truly surreal. My teammates' support made all the difference, and this moment is one I'll cherish forever," said Sanika Chalke after the match.
