WATCH: 'You are my cup of tea'- Throwback to when McLaren's Lando Norris served Fernando Alonso Tea at the 2018 US GP

McLaren’s Lando Norris is the only title contender for this year's Formula 1 drivers championship against Red Bull’s Max Verstappen. But there was a day when McLaren used him as a reserve driver while Fernando Alonso and Vandoorne were the main drivers for the team.  

Norris made his debut in 2019 after Fernando Alonso announced his retirement from Formula 1 in 2018. At that time McLaren’s were struggling with Honda engines they’ve been using and Alonso called them GP2 engines considering their pace.

After Fernando’s Exit McLaren brought Lando Norris as the main driver for the team along with Carlos Sainz. Now, Lando and Oscar Piastri are challenging the Red Bulls and in the last 6 races they are giving them hard times. The US GP is happening next week and drivers are getting ready for the race. An old video is circulating where Lando Norris out of kindness serving tea to the McLaren driver Fernando Alonso at the US Grand Prix.

It was the video from the 2018 US GP at that time Lando Norris was the reserve driver for the McLaren F1 team. Lando is bringing tea to Fernando and after drinking Fernando asks for more sugar and Norris with his kind heart is pouring the sugar.

He also stirs the tea for him. After drinking the tea Fernando gives back the cup and Lando asks ‘You want another one’ Alonso replies ‘It's finished’ and leaves with a smile. This video shows how Lando Norris is kind at heart and good as a teammate. Alonso was also in his last pace of racing at that time. However, he came out of retirement and joined Alpine and now Aston Martin.  

Lando Norris is currently second in the driver's championship with 52 points behind Max Verstappen. Mclaren is the leader of the constructors title surpassing the Red Bull F1 team. Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris are giving nightmares to the Red Bull team in the last 6-7 races.
