Formula 1 is a huge sport and every second during the race counts to the result. So everything needs to be fast once the lights are out. F1 teams calculate each end of every lap during the race until the chequered flag. Pit strategy is one of the most important parts of a race weekend.

The crew members practice day and night to have a perfect pit stop, which helps them save a hundredth of a millisecond. Usually, Red Bull is the fastest team to do a Pit stop, followed by Mercedes. The backend teams struggle mostly with timing due to their lack of experience.

World's fastest Pit stop ever

Last year, the McLaren team took out every other team and did the world's fastest Pit stop ever in Formula 1 history. In the Qatar Grand Prix, the McLaren crew made this amusing Guinness world record for changing the tyres for just 1.80 seconds. It's a new world record in Formula 1 history.

Before this race, the Red Bull team's crew had the world record for the fastest pit stop in 1.82 seconds at the 2019 Brazilian Grand Prix servicing Max Verstappen. Now the World Record will move to McLaren for doing an amazing job in helping Lando Norris with the world’s fastest pit stop Tyre change.

The DHL Fastest Pit Stop award was given to McLaren, along with the world record to the crew members for their amazing work during a crucial time. Max Verstappen won the race eventually winning his third Formula 1 world championship.

But because of the hard work of the McLaren pit crew Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris both ended up on the podiums. The drivers were severely affected by the intense heat in Qatar last year. Many drivers called the race the toughest ever. That's why this year's Qatar GP was postponed to the year's end with the Abu Dhabi GP. But even the heat couldn't stop the achievement McLaren pit crew has achieved in the high-heat race.
