The Singapore GP is days away and Formula 1 fans already can't wait to watch the toughest street race of the F1 Season. Meanwhile, let's look at 7-time world champion Lewis Hamilton's masterclass in the 2018 Singapore GP. Lewis Hamilton set the lap on fire with his driving masterclass and set the fastest qualifying lap at 1.36.015, ending in pole position. He was followed by Red Bull's Max Verstappen and Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel.
Lewis and Mercedes' Dominance
Mercedes, not known for mastering the street circuits, surprised everyone by giving Lewis the car he wanted dearly to show his Mastery in the Marina Bay circuit. The Singapore GP is one of the toughest circuits with a minimum margin for error. Lewis Hamilton showed why he is the Champion racing driver by setting the pace in the qualifiers.
The Mercedes Driver came into the race with a 30-point lead over the four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel. His Qualifying lap was seen as one of the best laps. He eased the Narrow Marina Bay Street circuit with his driving skills.
The 2018 Singapore GP also started with a collision like any other year after Force India’s Esteban Ocon ended up in the wall after a collision with his teamate Perez, bringing out the safety car in the opening lap. Perez then collided with Williams Teams Sirotkin on the 34th lap, thus getting his tyres punctured.
With all this drama happening in the back, Lewis Hamilton easily extended his lead over Max Verstappen and Sebastian Vettel by winning the 2018 singapore GP. Verstappen and Vettel finished second and third. Hamilton won the race and also won the world championship that year. Mercedes team won both the drivers and constructors title for the consequtive times. This year's singapore GP is expected to be full of action as Mclaren and Redbull Fight for the driver's and Constructor's title.
Max Verstappen the current championship leader will be looking to extend his title lead over Mclaren's Lando Norris. Red Bull also hopes to catch back the lost points in the last few races where they failed to dominate the other teams.
