Formula 1 fans eagerly await the announcement of the new driver who will replace Sergio Perez at Red Bull Racing. The Mexican driver had a disastrous 2024 F1 season, scoring only 152 points in 24 races, nearly 300 points behind his teammate Max Verstappen. Both the Red Bull drivers struggled with balance issues, but the Dutch driver scored points consistently and finished on the podium, keeping his title lead.
This also helped him to win the world championship for the fourth time despite having the third-fastest car on the grid. McLaren and Ferrari tried very hard to topple Verstappen's championship hopes, but the three-time champion showed some class in his driving and won the driver's title. But for his teammate, it all went downhill after the first half of the season.

He went backwards and even struggled to get past midfield teams. Red Bull management lost hope in Perez and does not want to try him one more season. Helmut Marko, the chief advisor, has openly criticised Perez for his lack of form and said the driver announcement may come very soon before Christmas.
The Driver announcement
Unofficial sources have confirmed Sergio Perez will be replaced by a junior driver from Red Bull. Liam Lawson will have the upper hand against Yuki Tsunoda, as the team management thinks he will be the perfect driver to team up with Max Verstappen.

Though Yuki Tsunoda outshined his teammates like Daniel Ricciardo, Nick De Vries, and Liam Lawson, the leadership group feels he doesn't have the aggression and fighting nature needed for the team. It will be very sad as Yuki was part of the team for 4 years, proved himself, and is still waiting for his chance at the senior team.
Liam Lawson was Ricciardo's replacement driver last year and performed very well. Red Bull fired Daniel Ricciardo after the Singapore GP, and Liam raced the remaining races for the VCARB team. He scored 4 points in the 6 races he raced for the team and even had some tussle with Fernando Alonso and Sergio Perez. Red Bull also tried to bring Franco Colapinto, but his costly crashes made them back off the deal.
