Formula 1 drivers are different from regular people not because of their speed and skills. Apart from all of these talents, they have one great talent that will save lives, not only theirs but also others and it is called 'Reflex'. We heard about cat reflexes around 20 to 70 milliseconds. This helps them to land on their feet quickly when falling, Balance, sharp vision and hearing, Quick reaction time, and sensitivity. They use their natural ability when hunting, playing and escaping.
F1 drivers also spend more time in training to improve their reflexes. This helps them make quick decisions, move and avoid accidents during racing. The more they go faster the more they need the reaction times. A Normal human will have a reaction time of 250 m/s.
But an F1 driver will react in 0.2 to 0.25 milliseconds, which is 3 times more than a normal person. In Formula 1 every milli second counts and drivers are battling hard for that millionth of a second. They apply their reaction skills during high-speed racing.

Hadjar avoiding a massive disaster
One great example of the driver's reaction time was Isack Hadjar's god-like reaction skills which saved him and Miyata from a major disaster during the Monaco Grand prix this year. During the Formula 2 race in the 2024 Monaco GP, Ritomo Miyata's car had a power unit issue.

He was going slowly on the right side inside the famous tunnel in Monaco, but without knowing this Isack Hadjar was doing a qualifying lap at a great speed and entered the tunnel. He then saw Miyata’s car in the corner and with only some milliseconds to react Hadjar moved left and avoided a major accident.
Thanks to his lightning-fast god-like reflexes which saved him and Miyata from danger. This incident remains a great example of racing driver's talent which separates them from normal people. Isack Hadjar was the runner-up in this year's Formula 2 championship against the winner Gabriel Bortoleto.
