Already Red Bull management lost hope in the Mexican driver and is confused about whether to continue with him for the next season. Team boss Helmut Marko and Christian Horner have criticised Sergio Perez for not scoring points for the team.

The Mexican is facing uncertainty over his future with the team he has been driving for four years. The leadership group and shareholders are very frustrated because McLaren and Ferrari have beaten them and if Sergio had scored points regularly they could have won the constructors title.

Perez already signed a contract with Red Bull last June, that allows him to continue with the Milton Keynes team till the end of the 2026 F1 season. Next year, many predict a four-way battle between the top four teams Mercedes, Red Bull, Mclaren and ferrari.

So, each team should have drivers in their prime form as it is the last season of the hybrid era which started in 2014. There were also rumours that Perez was offered an ambassadorship role like David Coulthard but the Mexican made it clear that he has a contract and will drive next year.

Sergio's Replacement drivers

Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda are seen as the potential replacements for Perez at Red Bull with the New Zealander being the prime contender for the seat. The Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda is the senior driver and also has Honda's backing. But, the Honda -Red Bull partnership ends next year, so the possibility of him getting retained is minimal.

Lawson seems to have impressed the leadership with his aggressive driving and mindset like Max Verstappen. Team boss Helmut Marko has said the team may announce the driver lineup very soon. He said, “We will be announcing news on the driver pairing for next year in the next few days.” Perez could also be demoted to VCARB for the next two seasons.
