Jorge Martin finishes on Pole

Jorge Martin has been very impressive this year as he is leading the championship battle against Francesco Bagnaia of Ducati. The Ducati factory team rider fell behind Marco Bezzecchi in fifth place. The second place was taken by Marc Marquez who used the spec Ducati bike from last year. Aprilia rider vinales surprised everyone by claiming the third spot in qualifying. VR46 rider Marco Bezzecchi was the fourth-fastest on the grid.

Reigning champion Francesco Bagnaia is fifth which is very surprising for him. The last spots in the top 10 are taken by Raul Fernandez (Trackhouse Racing), Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing team), Alex Rins (Yamaha), and Enea Bastianini (Ducati). Bastianini of Ducati was struggling all weekend as first he was out of Q2 and now he is in the final spot of the points table. The final 12 spots are occupied by Brad Binder (KTM), Fabio Di Giannantonio (VR46), Luca Marini (Repsol Honda Team), Johann Zarco (LCR Honda), Pedro Acosta (Gas gas Tech 3), Jack Miller (KTM), Augusto Fernandez (Gas Gas Tech 3), Joan Mir (Repsol Honda).

Fabio Quartararo of Yamaha was facing severe vibration issues and he didn't recover from the underperforming machine. He finished 19th in the grid followed by Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia racing), Takaaki Nakagami (LCR Honda), and Lorenzo Savadori (Trackhouse racing).

The Australian Grand Prix will now head into the sprint race session and tomorrow there will be the main race.  The 2024 MotoGP riders standings are led by Jorge Martin with 392 points, Francesco Bagnaia with 382 points, Enea Bastianini with 313 points, Marc Marquez with 311 points, and Brad Binder with 183 points.
