WATCH: Lewis Hamilton's heartfelt radio message after winning first-ever race for Ferrari

Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton won his first-ever career sprint race at the 2025 chinese grand prix sprint race. The seven-time world champion also set the record for the largest winning margin of over 6 seconds against Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen. 

It was a tyre management masterclass by the british racing driver as many other drivers struggled to manage their front tyres because the track layout complicated everything. Last year Hamilton lost his pole position to Max, but this year he was more into survival mode and won the race.

He will now head into the qualifying session in a few hours, where the data collected from the sprint race will be crucial for every team to set the perfect setup for qualifying. We expect Ferrari to lead the qualifying session either with Lewis Hamilton or Charles Leclerc as their pace was better than McLaren, Red Bull and Mercedes.

Lewis Hamilton gave a heartfelt message through the radio after winning his first-ever race for Ferrari. He said “Great job guys. Yes! Good job mate. Well done mate.” His race engineer also credited him for his tyre management skills and the F1 legend deserves all the credit. 

Hamilton celebrated the victory with his Ferrari crew and his father Anthony Hamilton who was waiting for him at the Parc Ferme. The seven-time world champion will now concentrate on winning the pole position, which will be crucial in the F1 Chinese Grand Prix. 

Usually, China favours pole sitters and McLaren is expected to come up, with a new setup for the main race. Max Verstappen is fighting alone for his Red Bull team, but you can't keep the Dutchman out of any competition. So Verstappen winning the Pole doesn't surprise us either. 

Lando Norris still leads the championship points table by 1 point against Verstappen, he should thank his teammate Oscar Piastri for his timely attack and winning the P2 position from Verstappen or he would have lost position. Lewis now has the most F1 grand prix wins in China (6) and if he wins tomorrow he becomes invincible as in the current driver lineup only Max Verstappen has 1 win in the Formula 1 chinese grand prix.
