20 years lost in Alonso's life

Alonso was driving the McLaren car and was in turn 3 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The car went off the track straight into the walls colliding heavily in an unusual angle. It was a low-speed crash and the impact was also low.

Alonso was airlifted to the hospital where he remained for three days. Reports emerged that he had a memory loss after the crash and went back to the year 1995 and forgot 20 years of his life and achievements. He was unconscious after the 160KMPH crash and woke up only in the hospital thinking it was the year 1995. He was asked who he was, and what is his job. Alonso replied, “I’m Fernando Alonso, I drive go-karts and I want to be an F1 driver.”

McLaren denied any of the incidents and Alonso also forgot what happened that day in 2015. There were speculations that Fernando’s car's ERS (Energy Recovery System) failed which caused Alonso to lose control of his car and led to the accident.
