A Glamorous Venue with a Rich History

Formula 1's relationship with Las Vegas dates back to the early 1980s when the Caesars Palace Grand Prix served as the season finale. In 1981, Alan Jones claimed victory, while Nelson Piquet secured his first World Championship by finishing fifth. A year later, Michele Alboreto earned his maiden F1 win at the same venue when Keke Rosberg clinched the title.

Fast-forward to 2024, and the race has transformed into a high-stakes event held on a newly designed 6.1-kilometre street circuit. This 14-turn layout includes a thrilling straight along the Las Vegas strip, where cars will reach speeds rivaling Monza, topping 342 km/h. The circuit’s mix of glamour and high-speed action solidifies its status as one of the most exciting venues in F1.

Championship Drama

The Las Vegas GP is poised to play a pivotal role in the championship. Max Verstappen leads the standings by 62 points and needs just a win or three additional points to clinch his fourth title. However, a win for Lando Norris or an unexpected DNF for Verstappen could extend the title fight to the season's last two races.
