The Formula 1 rookie Franco Colapinto's future in the sport is still unknown as he is yet to sign for a Formula 1 team next year. The 2025 season was very tough for many drivers like Zhou Guanyu, Valtteri Bottas, Kevin Magnussen, and Daniel Ricciardo all lost their driver seats and were replaced by rookies and other drivers.
The Argentinean driver Franco Colapinto who impressed many people in the garage was yet to find his place in a team for the 2025 season. As of now Red Bull and Alpine are the teams who are very much interested in signing the Rookie driver. He is definitely the find of the season as he scored 5 points just in 2 months. There have been intense negotiations going on between Williams, Red Bull and Alpine. But the Rookie is only focused on completing the season on a high.

No idols anymore
He recently spoke about his first-ever Formula 1 season and also talked about his future expectations. The young driver said “It's weird because Fernando Alonso is twice my age. So I used to watch him when I was 8-9 years old, racing against Hamilton fighting for titles. And suddenly, I’m racing against him, it's a bit of shock.”

Franco said once he puts the helmet on his head and pulls the visor down everyone is the same for him as he sees everyone as a competitor and rival. He wants to beat all of them in the race. He also talked about Max Verstappen during the comment who could potentially be his teammate in the future.

He said “So that competitiveness means that I don't care who is next to me. Whether is Verstappen or Zhou. It's the same. I want to win and I want to be ahead of them… if they're still your idols, it's very hard to beat them.” Colapinto believes he can't race and win if the drivers are still his idols.
But a lot is going on for Franco Colapinto as his future in the sport is unknown. Red Bull already confirmed their 2025 drivers lineup with Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. The RB Bulls seat of Liam Lawson is not confirmed yet. Williams team principal James Vowels wants Franco Colapinto to have a Williams team touch on his next team which they could get only with Mercedes. If Franco goes to Red Bull he will either race in the main Red Bull team or in the junior RB Bulls team.
